Geoclean 2318 is a high-performance, highly active organic acids blended cleaning chemical incorporating a special film forming inhibitor. Geoclean 2318 specially formulated to protect mild steel, stainless steel, copper and brass against acid attack. Geoclean 2318 is a technically blended organic acid containing a special film forming inhibitor that works to protect mild steel, stainless steel, copper and brass against acid attack.

The inhibitor serves as an efficient penetrant and dispersant to enhance the effectiveness of the acid. Geoclean 2316 can be used to dissolve lime-scale (calcium carbonate) deposits, and is an ideal for the cleaning of pipelines

Importance of Pipeline Cleaning Pipeline cleaning is essential for several reasons

  • Improved Efficiency: Removing deposits and contaminants from pipeline surfaces enhances fluid flow, reducing energy consumption and improving system efficiency.
  • Corrosion Prevention:Regular cleaning prevents corrosion by eliminating corrosive materials that can weaken the pipeline's structural integrity
  • Product Quality: In industries such as food processing and pharmaceuticals, maintaining a clean pipeline is critical to ensuring the quality and safety of products
  • Environmental Compliance: Clean pipelines are essential to prevent leaks and spills that can harm the environment and incur regulatory fines

Geoclean range of pipeline cleaning chemicals are specially formulated to target specific types of contaminants and deposits.

  • Solvents: Solvents break down and dissolve organic materials, such as oils, grease and hydrocarbons.
  • Acids:Acids, such as hydrochloric acid (HCl) or citric acid or nitric acid, are used to remove mineral scale, rust, and inorganic deposits
  • Surfactants: Surfactants enhance the wetting and spreading properties of the cleaning solution, ensuring better contact with contaminants
  • Corrosion Inhibitors: Corrosion inhibitors are often added to protect the pipeline's metal surfaces from the corrosive effects

Geoclean pipeline cleaning chemicals can be applied through various methods, depending on the type of pipeline and the nature of the contaminants:

  • Chemical Circulation: For larger pipelines, a closed-loop circulation system is often used. The cleaning chemical is pumped through the pipeline, continuously interacting with contaminants and deposits.
  • Pigging: In some cases, mechanical pigs or devices equipped with cleaning pads are used to physically scrape and remove deposits from the pipeline's interior walls.
  • Batch Treatment: Smaller pipelines or localized cleaning may involve introducing the cleaning solution into the pipeline, allowing it to sit for a specified period, and then flushing it out.
  • Safety Considerations: Safety is paramount when working with pipeline cleaning chemicals
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)Personnel should wear appropriate PPE, including gloves, goggles, and protective clothing, when handling pipeline cleaning chemicals
  • Ventilation: Ensure adequate ventilation in the workspace to disperse any fumes or vapors produced during the cleaning process.
  • Neutralization: Have a neutralizing agent (e.g., baking soda) readily available to neutralize spills or accidental skin contact with the cleaning solution.
  • Geopure Technical Personal Instructions: Always follow the Geopure Technical Personal instructions regarding dilution ratios, contact time, and proper disposal of used chemicals.
